Amazone prime

Who doesn’t want to use Amazon Prime? It’s the most popular online shopping subscription to this date – 3 out of 5 American households have subscribed to Amazon Prime. The perks include Prime video, reading, discount on whole foods, and the chance to save shipping cost on every purchase.

Amazone prime

Amazon Prime is wonderful but it’s not cheap. Its monthly membership costs $12.99 whereas annual membership costs $119. I am a subscriber myself. Not too long ago, I was debating if I should keep it or cancel because my Spectrum Internet bundles were getting costly. I had to manage my monthly budget which meant letting go of some services. I was able to find a middle ground. What if I tell you there’s a way to get free Amazon Prime? Yes, it’s true and there is more than one way available. So these are your options:

1: Sign up for a Free Trial

If you haven’t signed up for Amazon Prime already, you get a 30-day free trial. However, you can only qualify for it once. During the free trial period, you will get access to most of the features which include Prime Music, Prime Video, free 2-day shipping, Kindle lending library, etc.

Make sure you add the cancel membership reminder to your calendar after 30 days. This will keep your credit card from getting charged.

2: Become an Amazon Associate

Do you have a blog? If yes, you can qualify for free Amazon Prime through the Amazon Associate Affiliate Program. As you become an Amazon Associate, you earn every time a customer uses a link on your blog to purchase something from Amazon.

The affiliate program works with beauty, lifestyle, household, and similar other products. When someone signs up for Amazon Prime through an affiliate link on your website, you will receive $3 on each sign-up. If you are able to refer 4 people successfully, you can afford an Amazon Prime membership.

3: Sign up with a New Email Account

This is the oldest trick in the book to sign up for something free. It is said that Amazon looks at the email addresses only. It doesn’t check the credit card used with each membership. So to play it safe, it’s best to choose a different credit card. It’s not a bad idea to give it a shot.

If you have more than two different email addresses, you can get free Amazon Prime for two months. Great, right? You can also ask your spouse or roommate to sign up for a free trial.

4: Get a Sprint Cell Phone Subscription

Those who have a Sprint unlimited premium cell phone can get free Amazon Prime as well. Even if you have another plan, you can still get a subscription but Sprint will charge you $12.99 per month. This is a nominal price any Amazon fan would be happy to pay.

With this option, you can bundle your bills so that you don’t have to worry about paying the subscription for Amazon Prime separately.

5: Take Advantage of Late Package

Caution: This method is not guaranteed however, it’s worth the shot.

If you have an Amazon Prime account and your package arrives after the scheduled time, contact customer support. Ask them to offer compensation in the form of free Amazon Prime membership for a month.

You might have to be persistent, descriptive and of course, courteous while talking to the customer service representative. Don’t forget to mention you are a loyal Amazon Prime customer. Also, let them know that the late arrival of the package has caused you inconvenience.

If you don’t get free Amazon Prime membership in the form of compensation, you will at least get something else. This could be a gift card or even a refund.

6: Join as a Student

Are you a college student? You can get free membership to the Amazon Prime student account for 6 months.

Once the trial period is over, you just have to pay $6.49 per month. This membership can last for up to 4 years. After this, your subscription will be renewed for regular Amazon Prime membership automatically.

You don’t need your school email address to sign up for the student membership. You just have to verify that you are a student. During the trial period, you might not have access to certain features such as the kindle lending library. This will solve once you switch to the paid version of the student membership.

Summing Up

I wish these hacks could work when/if I sign up for a bundle by dialling Spectrum phone number as well. Nevertheless, they will let you get free membership for at least a month. Enjoy the features while you can!
